We don’t want to get all preachy but…

There are so many reasons why people should consider moving towards buying vintage and pre-owned over new products. Here are just a few.

Sustainability:

Buying vintage is a sustainable choice because it reduces the demand for new products to be produced, which can reduce the environmental impact of the fashion industry. By choosing pre-owned items, you are essentially recycling clothing and reducing waste.

Quality:

Vintage clothing is often of higher quality than the majority of modern, mass-produced clothing. Items made in the past were often constructed with higher quality materials and craftsmanship. Often vintage pieces that are over 30 years old can last another 30 years at least if looked after well.

Unique Style:

Buying things from the past opens styling options up to a much wider scope of choice, offering the potential of unique combinations that cannot be found in modern fashion. Each vintage item has its own history, and wearing them can add character and personality to your wardrobe.

Affordability:

It goes without saying that buying pre-owned designer clothing is way cheaper than buying new. Young people have been doing this for a while with facebook groups like Wavey Garms and marketplace platforms like Depop providing a space for send hand designer items. Buying vintage is a great way to build a top-notch wardrobe without breaking the bank.

Preservation of History:

Vintage clothing can be considered as cultural artifacts and a reminders of the past. By buying and wearing old items, you are helping to preserve a piece of history and keep the memories of a certain time period alive.
